Karena buku tersebut berisikan materi-materi yang telah dikembangkan dengan baik dan diatur berdasarkan silabus untuk satu semester. Dalam kurikulum, nilai-nilai karakter pendidikan menjadi salah satu tujuan yang harus ditekankan tidak hanya pada proses belajar mengajar tetapi juga dalam materi pembelajaran melalui buku pelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis nilai-nilai karakter pendidikan dari kalimat-kalimat dalam buku kurikulum 2013 berjudul "Bahasa Inggris" untuk siswa kelas XI pada semester satu. Analisis difokuskan pada 18 nilai-nilai karakter pendidikan yang ditekankan oleh pemerintah. Peneliti menggunakan metode kualitatif. Peneliti mengidentifikasi data berdasarkan setiap bab dari buku pelajaran tersebut. Peneliti mengidentifikasi kalimat-kalimat dari buku pelajaran yang terkait dengan batasan-batasan penelitian. Peneliti mengklasifikasikan 18 nilai-nilai karakter pendidikan dari setiap bab dan meletakkannya pada checklist observasi untuk memudahkan pembaca dalam memahami data. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ada 17 nilai-nilai karakter pendidikan yang diidentifikasi dari kalimat-kalimat di 5 bab dari buku pelajaran ini. Fakta menunjukkan bahwa di setiap bab memiliki satu atau dua nilai karakter pendidikan yang sering ditemukan oleh peneliti. Hasilnya, karakter-karakter yang ditemukan memiliki hubungan dengan tema di setiap bab. Dalam hal ini, semakin banyak nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter yang diilustrasikan melalui buku pelajaran, maka semakin baik kualitas buku pelajaran tersebut. It conveys materials that are well developed and arranged based on the syllabi for one semester. In the term of curriculum, character education values become one of the objectives that should be emphasized not only on teaching and learning process but also in the learning materials through the textbook. This research is aimed to analyze the character education values that are spread out from the sentence(s) of 2013 curriculum English textbook entitled “Bahasa Inggris” for eleventh graders on semester one. The analysis focused on 18 character education values that are emphasized by the government. The researcher uses qualitative study. Indeed, the researcher identified the data based on each chapter of the textbook. The researcher identified the sentence(s) of the textbook that related with the limitation of the study. The researcher classified 18 character education values in every chapter and put it on the observation checklist to make the reader easy on understanding the data. The results of this research show that there are 17 character education values that were identified from the sentence(s) in 5 chapters of the textbook. The fact illustrate that in each chapter has one or two character education values that often be found by the researcher. The findings deal with the themes in every chapter. In this case, the more character education values that illustrated through a textbook, the better quality of the textbook will be. Keywords : Textbook, Character education values, 2013 curriculum&nbsp
